We need you!

The Happy Factory has no paid staff. The entire operation is run by volunteer labor. We have many types of volunteers and appreciate all of them.

Become a “Regular”
We find that volunteers who have committed to regular schedules are invaluable to us. Once a person has learned “the system” at a factory, they can come in and get right to work with no supervision. Anyone is qualified to trace patterns, glue wood, assemble axles and wheels, and help keep our factories in working order. We need people over 18 to operate the equipment such as saws and routers. If you have a little spare time on a regular basis, please become part of our team at our workshop.

Organize Your Group
We love to have groups come in to give of their time. We have cars to assemble and oil. We have factories to clean and maintain. Or, if you have an idea for a special project, just let us know. Please help us by letting us know when you would like to come in and what project you would like to do. This gives us time to prepare for your group. For instance, if you are bringing in a youth group, we will have to have toys that have already gone through the cutting, sanding, and routing process. We want your valuable volunteer time to be used effectively.

Serve as a Board Member
There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. We have people involved in fund raising, accounting, public relations, transportation….the list is endless. We need you to help us with your expertise in areas beyond the toy-making process. (Of course, you can make a few toys while you’re at it, because that’s the FUN part!)
